There is not a shred of evidence that suggests that Paul Curtman, or any other protester, is receiving any money from Rich Scott. And even if he were, the constituional argument that he made is still valid.

I can't find any evidence in the Bible to support or refute your assumption that Jesus would support government-mandated charity. And, one can still debate whether the programs being advanced are the best ways to help those in need. As a Christian, I believe the invocation of the name of our Lord in support of a political cause to be one of the most blatant violations of the 3rd commandment.

If you don’t know who Rick Scott is then you don’t know who is duping you. This is the false prophet. Scott is the money-changer you let into your temple. Scott is a big health care CEO (whose company by the way was fined $1.7 billion for fraud) who is financing the disruption of the town hall meetings. He is the temptor who has cause you to stumble into the gospel of hatred for your fellow man. His “salvation” (money) is to get you to server corporate profits instead of your fellow man.

One Master said “Feed my sheep,” “As ye do to the least of these my brothers, you do unto me.” Perhaps you can appreciate how that would be served by universal health care?
The other “master” says, “shout them down,” and “voice your anger.” Does that really serve your mission to be the spreader of the Good News?

I truly feel sorry for good-hearted people who have been drawn into the hatred of political extremism and who honestly think they are serving Christ, when in fact they are serving corporate lobbyists. What a shame!

True enough. Laws created by the government, by definition, restrict our freedom. So, what you say is true, but it's not always a bad thing. By your definition, the only kind of true freedom would be no government at all, since that's the only way to ensure that no laws are passed that restrict freedom.

I was hoping somewhat would find a hole with my two justifications for restricting freedom, so I thank you for pointing out one so that I can improve my reasoning. You're right, I went to far to say that it is OK to restrict freedom in order to prevent indirect harm. I would qualify that by saying that the indirect harm must not be an anticipated consequence of a choice the affected party. For example, when Microsoft goes into business, it is an anticipated consequence that another company might make decisions that hurts Microsoft indirectly, due to the competitive nature of the marketplace. Of course this is fair game, and should be because Microsoft knew the rules of the game when they got into it.

So that's my refined rule, until someone else points out another flaw.

There is no freedom. Freedom is a lie. You only have one type of freedom. Freedom to choose what they(government) give you as a choice. I also think there is a problem with indirect harm. For example Apple found something which affects Microsoft's sells. It's an indirect harm. You may call it competition but aren't supremacy, taking all power's and rights from others...etc.. competition?
